First appearance

The year this dog was first seen in a three generation pedigree of any born litter i.e. the year its first registered offspring was born.

Age at first appearance

The age of this individual at the time of their first offspring’s birth.

Last appearance

The last year this dog was seen in a three generation pedigree of any born litter. On average the time between an individual's first and last appearance is about 12 years.

% N at last appearance

The fraction of the living population descending from an individual at the time of their last appearance. This column is used to measure how wide their contribution spread in the time between the first and last appearance. The higher this number gets, the harder it will be for breeders to avoid inbreeding to this individual in the future.

E.g. value 10% means one in every 10 dogs alive that year was offspring, grand offspring or great-grand offspring of the individual in question.
